Support for HealthySteps Sites

Support for HealthySteps Sites

As the Colorado state intermediary for HealthySteps, ABCD provides support for HealthySteps sites in a variety of ways. Expect to form a true partnership with ABCD, and grow your practice’s effectiveness with a decade of experience accumulated from implementing HealthSteps across the state.

Site Visits

ABCD conducts annual site visits to gain qualitative insights into program implementation. These visits provide an opportunity to engage directly with staff, observe operations, and identify site-specific needs. By incorporating on-the-ground feedback, we can offer more targeted support and ensure that HealthySteps is effectively integrated into each practice.

Community of Practice

The HealthySteps Colorado Community of Practice is a peer-driven space facilitated by ABCD. Join fellow HealthySteps Specialists across the state to share strategies, troubleshoot challenges and exchange ideas that strengthen your practice. This space supports continuous learning and collaborative problem-solving so you can better serve families in your community.

Technical Assistance Calls

ABCD offers ongoing technical assistance (TA) calls tailored to your site’s needs. These calls are an opportunity to:

  • Troubleshoot challenges in real time

  • Receive coaching on fidelity monitoring, workflows, data management, and billing

  • Share updates and collaborate on identified goals

  • Ensure your site is equipped with practical tools and strategies for HS implementation

Data Support

HealthySteps sites have access to ABCD’s centralized database. You will input data including demographic information and specifics about each well-child visit. By analyzing these dashboards, we identify trends, address challenges promptly, and share best practices across sites.

Professional Development Days

ABCD hosts an annual in-person statewide professional development day focused on perinatal, infant and early childhood mental health. Professional development days are an opportunity to build community, learn from experts and peers, and take ready-to-implement best practices back to your site.

Advocacy on Behalf of Sites

ABCD advocates at the state and national levels to ensure the longevity of HealthySteps in Colorado and beyond. Most recently, SB25-017 was passed, formally recognizing HealthySteps as a distinct program within the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. This designation affirms the vital role HealthySteps plays in promoting the healthy development, wellbeing, and school readiness of infants and toddlers across the state.

Expansion Planning for Health Systems

ABCD partners with health systems to strategically grow HealthySteps, offering data-driven planning, implementation support, and alignment with state and national initiatives. We are working towards HealthySteps being accessible in every county in Colorado.
